Cruz Zimmer are a Paris-based photography duo formed by Alejandro Cruz, Spain (1984) and Eliseu Zimmer, Brazil (1995). With backgrounds in cinema and visual arts, their practice merges storytelling with a precise visual language, giving their photography a distinctive cinematic depth.
Their images explore form, perception, and atmosphere — often centering on people, objects, and spaces with a refined sensitivity to light, rhythm, and composition. The human form is treated not as a fixed subject but as part of a larger choreography. Each photograph creates a mood that lingers, balancing intimacy with mystery. Recurring themes include duality and the poetics of presence.
In 2024, Cruz Zimmer took part in the Paris collective photo exhibition ‘Born to Lose’. They are currently working on their first photography book while presenting their short film ‘The Edge of Dawn’ at major international film festivals — extending their visual language across both photography and film.
Their work has been recently featured in publications such as Exhibition Magazine and Puss Puss.
